The trend towards color palettes and decor options in the past few years has been about focusing on our future, relaxing, ideation, and disconnecting. Last year’s Pantone Colour of the Year was Ultra Violet – a deep shade of purple and blue hues to promote originality, futurism, and visionary thinking.
Similar to this, modern furniture styles have been trending towards the natural, the simple, and the bold. Complicated designs and furniture are no longer sought after; minimalism is almost everyone’s choice.
With 2018 coming to a close soon, here at Interionic we’re looking forward to 2019 to determine some of the furniture trends colors, ours being predicted to be stylish in the new year.
Popular Colours for 2019
The predicted popular colors for 2019 revolve around deep hues, sophistication, class, and elegance. Deep tones evoke feelings of refinement, worldliness, and richness.
The Dulux Paint 2019 color of the year is Night Watch – a deep, beautiful green from nature while still evoking urban sophistication. They are pairing this color with a bold palette of deep blues, rich wine shades, neutral greys and nudes, and some amazing burnt orange colors (like their Lucky Penny). Their palettes are a balanced mix of neutral, light shades with deep colorful hues. https://www.dulux.ca/diy/colour/2019-dulux-trends
Behr’s color of the year for 2019 is Blueprint, a simple, honest, flexible color that evokes flexibility, imagination, and transformation. The name itself brings up these feelings of starting to build something from scratch! Their color palettes are similar to those of Dulux’s balanced neutrals, but also a variety of pastels mixed with deep green and blue hues. https://www.behr.com/consumer_ca/inspiration/2019-color-trends/
Pantone, of course, has not yet released their color of the year for 2019. Their 2019 Colour Palettes are so far filled with deep greens and bright oranges, with neutrals in beige, grey, and deep blue for balance. Their color palette in 2019 is fuelled by rich food and cravings, like pepper, turmeric, and toffee. We are excited to see what they choose as their 2019 color of the year in this delicious theme! https://www.pantone.com/color-intelligence/fashion-color-trend-report/fashion-color-trend-report-london-spring-summer-2019
